Etowah, fifth page. And the last one. Really.

This is a fish trap. The indians trapped fish here. And in 40 other places along the Etowah river. I read the sign:) Corn. The Indians called it Maize.
Bow and Arrow mobile home park. For real. I'm not making this up. This was taken from a mound.
She's touching it! She's touching it! Annika's touching the canoe!!!!!

Etowah, third page, or is this the fourth one?

Me on another mound. Gavin and I escaped the taller mound and found refuge here. Not from the heat, just from the mound. How many times can one type "mound" in here? Mound. (12) Here is an unfinished boat or canoe or something. I forgot what the sign said.
Mini-mound! Or wee-mound. Or just a small pile of dirt. No, not mound-like at all. And get off before you ruin your shoes!!
Mushroom mound.

Mound. Taken from the tallest mound. Annika on mound. The tallest mound.
Another mound!
And a factory. Taken from the mound.

Etowah, second page

Here we're walking towards the mound.. (walk towards the light, i mean, the mound, no! the light. yeah.) Its a pretty long walk and they have bermuda grass grown to show you where to go. (I thought the 70ft tall mounds would show me, but whatever!) Pretty interesting.
I'm closing my eyes and trying *real hard* to imagine like the sign said. Nope. Don't see it. You'll have to recreate the entire civilization for me. I'm more of a "visual" person.
Yeah, its as long as it looks. Whew.

Etowah Indian Mounds

This is inside the main building..the only building.. and I thought these were cool. The whole place was, in fact, it was icy. They have great air-conditioning.

This is the ditch that goes around the entire area. The picture here is of the widest area and I wanted to run up and down the hills, but the sign said no.

My kitty. Name him!

This is the cat I want to keep. He's ugly with bug-eyes. I love him. And he kicks ass too. Sandy/Simba's ass to be specific. Go get him, Tiger! (I'm not naming him Tiger. That was just to be funny. Laugh now.)
Dixie is on patrol. Any kittens in her way? There better not be.
Awwwww....... there he is. They've all moved to the basement stairs. He's curling up with the other cat-who-has-no-name. Or home. Someone take him, please.

Deerlick, contd.

I think theres a four picture limit for each post. Anyway, here Gavin brings out the first aid kit. We're about to go for a walk, and Celeste is distributing rum (bottomleft). The best way to prevent accidents is to take the kit. A hill! Of rocks! Its so much fun!!!

Deerlick...for astronomy geeks! (i'm not one of them)

In the directions, they say that the camp is about 20 yards past SG-1. This, clearly, is the Star Gate. Hot. No breeze. Humid. I'm staying in the shade!
Gareth takes over the grill. The whole kitchen for that matter. Good thing he can cook!
We bought everyone a hat at the "Bi-Lo". They were $3 a piece, and I tried to haggle for $2 each. It didn't work. It never does.....

Kittens!

The Kitten Stampede! All I have to do is walk in the room saying "kiiiiiitieeeeees" and out they run. (They live under the bed) They love to play now, and they're starting to "fight" each other.
I set food out so they could learn how to eat. They don't quite have the hang of it yet.

This one is Sandy. (you happy now?) His new owners have named him Simba, but he can't go until he learns how to eat real food. And how to stop giving me puppy dog eyes, because that will only force me to keep him. But I won't. Posted by Picasa
